Relevant Activities and Interests
Clinical instruction of community health nursing students (both in the traditional and accelerated BSN programs at Saint Louis University School of Nursing) in senior citizen apartment buildings in the St. Louis area (Parkview and West Pine) as well as home visits to elderly patients through Forest Park Southeast Health Center
Supervision and guidance of community projects developed by the students involving the elderly through health fairs to provide education on chronic illnesses and prevention of illness/health promotion, to do BP, BS screenings and health assessments, health teaching on nutrition, exercise and safety
Supervision of the administration of flu vaccines with the VNA to predominantly elderly population in the St. Louis area
Speaker/Advocate on and against Domestic Violence to all elderly patients
Joined the medical mission to the Philippines in 2006 to help the aging population on issues like illness prevention and treatment, hygiene and environmental challenges and health promotion.
